Inside Me It’s Dormant, 2025

I draw on the archetypal image of a sleeping giant as a metaphor for hidden creative power — dormant within until certain circumstances provoke its awakening.

Individual physicality becomes the landscape for an archetypal narrative to unfold. The work is based on my own cardiogram, recorded by a paramedic before I was admitted to intensive care. The relentless rhythm and pulsation persist even in the moment of obvious physical weakness. 

What may appear to an outside observer as passive enchantment is, in fact, a cover for an inner process — a boiling of latent energy and the gradual accumulation of creative force.
